Battle of Time (NL: Tijdstrijd)
Battle of Time (NL: Tijdstrijd) is the first short film I've directed. In Battle of Time we meet the busy student Floor. She plans her whole life, second per second. On the day of her 21st birthday, she loses her grip on time. Time is starting to control Floor. Is she able to break free from time and enjoy every moment again?
A film about finding balance between rush and quietness. You can spend your time worrying about everything you still have to do, but in the meantime you do nothing. Just start and along the way you will see where it all takes you.

Production
In pre-production I searched for the perfect style for the film. A drama with a thriller touch, that's what I strongly felt while writing and developing the script. We shot Time Battle in 4 shooting days, 8 to 11 April 2022.
The Clocks
One of the biggest challenges in the preparations was collecting clocks. Time is the central theme and I wanted to visualise this with clocks. I only had a small budget for the film, so the clocks had to be picked up for free or could be bought for a small amount of money. In the end, I managed to collect about 50 clocks. This quest also contributed to the story. The different types of clocks I found and the stories the people I met told about their clocks gave me lots of inspiration.
